"FEED"
The sentence, "We went to the moon to have fun, but the moon turned out to completely suck." tells us that the trip to the moon sucked. Things were fun in the beginning, but then things got worse, like that hacker that hacked Titus and them. Plus the moon wasn't very clean. There were trash everywhere and there were places that didn't exist there anymore. The language that Anderson uses are very similar to the language we use today. They used slang, just like typical teenagers today. The characters are very stereotypical. They have a jock, a blond, etc. I think Anderson's purpose was to give the reader a sense of how the slang/language has changed and how it remained the same. It also gives us a sense of how people in the future sound almost, computer-like. The language is very effective due to the fact that they sound just like us. I wonder, how would the adults sound like in this time frame. Titus is the main character of this story. He's very different from all of his friends. Titus is the thinker of the group. While Marty and Link are somewhat jerks. Titus is more laidback, for example when they were going to the moon. Marty and Link were messing around when all titus wanted to do was sleep. He sounds like a goody goody. He seems like the guy that stays away from trouble. If Violet lived in our time today, she would be considered more nomal than Titus and the others. Violet is very different from the others. She wasn't born with a chip installed in her. She knows what it feels like to not have a chip controlling her thoughts. She can read and write. While the others don't. In the story she is wearing a grey wool dress, while everybody else is wearing something totally different. Violet wants to "normal" like the others because she is an outcast. She didn't live her whole life with a feed. What is considered nomal would be Titus and his friends. They are the typical teenagers of thier time.
